Aguaviva - Tenerife music, for water, for life.

Anything that helps raise awareness of green issues is good and Tenerife has an annual fiesta called Aguaviva, which tries to focus attention on the plight and pollution of the sea, something that is pretty vital to everyone in the Canary Islands.
This years events will run for around a week, and will as always include, workshops, guest speakers, photo exhibitions and much more, culminating in two high profile concerts in Los Cristianos football stadium on Friday June 13 and Saturday June 14. Details are now emerging, and the Saturday concert will be headlined by Jamiroquai with the line up also including Jam Calle 13, Blackstrobe and Aristides Moreno.
Tickets were due to go on sale on April 1st but as so often in Tenerife, they are running a little late. The first 5,000 tickets will cost 35 euros, or 45 euros including camping, after these have gone, prices will rise to 45 euros for tickets and 55 euros with the camping facillity locally. Los Cristianos cultural centre and most record shops and large retail outlets across Tenerife will be selling tickets but try these websites www.aguavivacanarias.com or www.generaltickets.com .
Even with top international acts on the stage, the events are unlikely to sell out, and tickets should be available up to the evening of the concerts. Once details of the Friday night line up are also announced, there should be a joint ticket for both nights at a cheaper rate.
